🔹 About the Speaker:

Dean M. Harris, J.D. is a retired Associate Professor from the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served on the UNC faculty for over 20 years, where he taught courses in health law, ethical issues in health policy and management, comparative health systems, and global health.

Professor Harris holds a B.A. from Cornell University (1973) and a J.D. with high honors from the UNC School of Law (1981). He is a member of the European Association of Health Law and a retired lawyer with extensive experience in health law, including areas such as healthcare regulation, patient care, competition law, and healthcare fraud and abuse.

He is the author of several notable books, including:

  • Contemporary Issues in Healthcare Law & Ethics (Health Administration Press, 2014)
  • Ethics in Health Services and Policy: A Global Approach (Jossey-Bass/Wiley, 2011)
