As part of the Erasmus +Program the academic year 2024/25, the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University Medical College offers its students spots for student exchange in the following universities (length of stay: one or two semesters, unless specified otherwise):

After the final acceptance, the student is obliged to present MRSA test results.

NOTE: Students submitting applications for participation in the exchange program are advised to familiarize themselves with the websites of the chosen universities, as well as with the curricula they offer.


 

Who is eligible

The exchange program is intended for the students who in the academic year 2024/25 will be in the:

  • 4th, 5th or 6th year of 6-year MD program for high school graduates,
  • 3rd, 4th  or 5th year of the DDS program in English JU MC.

Applications for the exchange program are to be submitted in the academic year preceding the academic year in which the student will be partaking in the program.


 

Classification criteria

Required of an applicant is the following:

  • average of grades for the courses taken theretofore (not lower than 3.25) –  max 10 pts;

    ≥ 3,5 i < 3,75 2 pts
    ≥3,75 & <4,0 4 pts
    ≥4.0 & <4,25 6 pts
    ≥ 4,25 & < 4,5 8 pts
     ≥ 4,5 10 pts
  • interview in the language of the target country and/or English –  max 5 pts; students holding a language  certificate in the language of the target country will have priority in choosing a university;

  • level of academic activity (active participation in scientific societies confirmed by the supervisor of a particular group, active participation in conferences, academic publications, etc.) – max 5 pts;

  • social work – confirmed by  Council of the Student Self Government Organisation JU MC (Rada Samorządu Studentów Wydziału Lekarskiego UJ CM) or in IFMSA; 1 pts for each activity  – max 3 pts.


 

Duration of stay

A student of the Faculty of Medicine JU MC may study outside the mother university for no more than two semesters during the whole course of studies (in special circumstances up to four semesters). The student is entitled to only one scholarship trip per academic year.


 

Fees

Students partaking in the Erasmus+ exchange program are exempt from fees for the studies abroad and are granted partial funding to cover the costs of living.


 

Language requirements

All lectures and classes are conducted in the mother languages of the universities (unless specified otherwise). Required level of proficiency depending on the university: B1, B2 (France, Germany) or C1 (Lausanne).

Applicants for the exchange program in Belgium, Portugal, Slovenia and Hungary will be assessed in terms of their knowledge of English, and in the case of the exchange programs in Spain and Italy, applicants’ knowledge of Spanish and Italian respectively is taken into account first of all, and then their knowledge of English. The educational institutions in the countries mentioned earlier hold language courses before the beginning of the classes.


 

HOW TO APPLY

Recruitment to Erasmus+ in the academic year 2024/25 will be conducted via USOSweb.

To partake, log in to the system, go to the Student’s section (main menu), and next to Student Mobility (left side menu bar). Applications will be accepted from January 15 till February 5, 2024.

Scans of documents are still required, irrespective of the online application. The documents should be e-mailed to the School Office by February 5th, 2024 to edyta.stanczykiewicz@uj.edu.pl  
in one PDF file, with the documents arranged in the following order: 1. motivational letter, 2. certificate of the average grade, 3. certificate of proficiency in language of instruction and 4. other documents.

A complete application contains the following (in this order):

  • Motivation Letter (with information about preferred Universities); please, remember to include  your personal data: first and last name, current year of study, the program of study, e-mail address in the student.uj.edu.pl domain, phone number;
  • Average of grades for the courses taken theretofore (not lower than 3.25);
  • Certificate of proficiency in the language of instruction in the chosen university, or proficiency in English (issued either by Jagiellonian Language Center or by another language school, or a certificate of a passed language exam). NOTE: Students of the School of Medicine in English, Jagiellonian University Medical College are exempted from delivering the certificate of English proficiency.
  • confirmation of student’s academic activity (recommendation letter from the supervisor of the science group);
  • confirmation of student’s social work.

 

Recruitment Timeline

  • January 15 – February 5, 2024: Registration in USOSweb opens;
  • February 7-9, 2024: Interviews (online in MS Teams);
  • February 14, 2024: Results are announced.
  • February 14-16, 2024: Appeal applications with justification are accepted.
  • February 16, 2024: Students qualified for the program supplement the required information in USOSweb.

The deadlines are non-extendable.
